Good morning! Today, you’re in for a treat as you’ll have breakfast at your hotel before heading out to explore Stone Town. This is a UNESCO World Heritage site influenced by various cultures throughout the centuries. Your expert local guide will take you to the vibrant market where locals bargain and sell their goods. After that, you’ll visit the peaceful 19th-century cathedral built on the former slave market, which was abolished in 1873.
As you stroll through the narrow streets and alleys, you’ll see the different styles of Arab and Indian houses. The Arab houses have courtyards hidden behind heavy doors, whereas the Indian residences are adorned with fences and metal railings. You’ll also get to see some of the historic sites in the Town, such as the ‘Tip Tip House,’ the Old Fort, and the People’s Palace Museum. For lunch, you’ll be heading to the Silk Route Indian rooftop restaurant with fantastic ocean views. The restaurant is full of character, so enjoy the delicious food and try a cocktail. After lunch, we’ll ensure you return to the airport safely for your flight.
